Dr. Al Sayed started his career as a supervisor in Bahrain Petroleum Co. (BAPCO). After that he held the following senior positions:

- General Manager, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC)
- Chief Executive, Bahrain Petroleum Co.

- Bahrain Medal, 1st degree (decorated by HM the King of Bahrain)
